What is a RSS feed, and why do you need one? The question of what is a RSS feed is and what it can do for you is one that many web marketers find themselves wondering.

The truth of the matter is that an RSS feed can make you and your services a lot more applicable and findable to the people who are looking for you, and creating one is usually as simple as filling out a few forms. Take some time to really learn the answer to what is a RSS feed and what it can do for you. First, RSS is an abbreviation for Really Simple Syndication. It may also mean Rich Site Summary, but in most cases of usage, you are looking at the former. Chances are good that you have seen this tool in action before without even knowing it.

Are there are any blogs that you read regularly? For instance, maybe you read the blogs of your friends or perhaps you prefer the blogs of people who are important in your industry. If you do, look around for a small icon that has an orange dot that is half-surrounded by two orange lines. This icon means that there is an RSS feed available.

Essentially, with an RSS feed, it means that you are looking at material that you can be delivered to you in a fashion beyond that of needing to go to the site every time something updates. Think about what you can do when you are looking at making sure that your work is getting out there and what they are doing about the same thing.

Consider the fact that you are very busy and that you don’t always have the time to go check out the news that you would like to. With an RSS feed, it is all delivered to one site and you will discover that you are in a great place to just sit back and let the information wash over you and to assimilate this.
