What Purpose Does Twitter Serve?

Twitter is the fastest growing social media site around. At the same time Twitter seems to be the most misunderstood site. Teenagers don’t seem to understand what value Twitter adds. A lot of them have nothing good to say about Twitter. This is not the case for adults. They seem to recognize the value much more easily given the fact that they are using Twitter much more frequently.

Those that are not actively using Twitter use the example “why would I want to know if you are at lunch?” to demonstrate that there is no value to using Twitter. However, those of you that are active online, know the importance of having a list. If I told you that there is nothing easier than to build a list on Twitter, I bet you I have your attention. You can have a list that is growing by 500-1000 people per week on autopilot! And all at no or very little cost (depending on how you automate things).

They say that every person on your list is worth about $1 per month. So with hardly any investment at all, you can create an empire that makes you thousands of dollars every month.

Ok, now you still don’t know how. Simple. You look for people that are tweeting about topics of your particular interest and you just follow them. Most people will follow you back. As soon as they follow you back they basically sign up for your list.

Next step is to start tweeting about your niche. Your followers will all see your tweets and if they re-tweet your message the followers of the person who re-tweeted your message will see your message. The viral nature of Twitter at its best.

It is easy for me to say. But I was just as skeptical as you may be about Twitter. Full of questions as to why I would use Twitter. What changed my mind was a part of a video that Simon Ford released. This is the video I watched:

I don’t know about you, but after watching this video I was convinced that Simon U Ford could explain to me how to use Twitter effectively. I never looked back after that decision. If you want to find out if this is for you, check out this social traffic page. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. I would love to answer any of your questions about social media, Twitter and/or Simon’s course. I did all 10 weeks of the course and I can tell you that is has changed my business for the better.

To your success,

  • Twitter and Facebook are the 2 titans who are also growing at meteoric rates. You make a great point about how people first view twitter as trivial but then once they get into it and understand it the value becomes clear. It's certainly possible to get $1 per month from each follower provided you follow what Simon Ford teaches and give massive value so all your followers trust you.
  • Thanks guys for your input. These are exciting times. The opportunities are enormous!

This is such good information on Twitter, it seems so daunting to me as I attempt to post but as I have learned on the social traffic course video's and training, twitter is for all of us that want to build a business on line. See you on twitter
  • I did Simon's 10 week course as well. Prior to that I had made an account on twitter but did not even know how to publish a tweet. Being able to find peeps with simialr interests has allowed me to connect with all kinds of people from across the globe. Sometimes we talk about llunch but it ihas also been a great business resource.

Teens still prefer IM amonst freinds. This serves their needs.
  • #SimonFord has some great twitter tactics. After watching that video I was able to figure out when my target market was tweeting so I could interact with them. I've got a lot to learn about twitter, but this is a great start. I can't tell you how many times I've heard, "“why would I want to know if you are at lunch?” That seems to be everyone's first impression of twitter.

One Way Links

Social bookmarking is the link building tool of today. None of the other ways to build links bring in the same amount of traffic to your website or blog that social bookmarking does.
