Content Syndication

We all know that it is important to get backlinks to your site. The two most popular ways to do this are leaving comments on blogs and social bookmarking. I have been doing both these activities on a regular basis ever since I started online. I do have a system in place, that makes this process easier and faster. Every time I leave a comment, I also bookmark that page to all my social media platforms. This helps the ranking of that page, and since I have a comment on that page, it also helps me.

I would like to show you how to set up this system, that helps you in your social bookmarking efforts, but also makes it easier to find good content to comment on.

{{{*}}}

In a nutshell this is the concept:

  1. Find blogs of interest to you and locate the RSS feed for it
  2. Add the RSS feed to Google Reader
  3. Go through your list of new posts on a regular basis
  4. Read those posts that you are interested in
  5. Click the share button at the bottom of the article (within Google Reader)
  6. Click on the title of the article to go to the blog
  7. Leave a comment

In the following videos I will show you the exact process that you need to follow to get this set up.

Video 1: Setting up Google Reader

Video 2: Using Google Reader

Video 3: Connecting Google Reader with Ping.fm

Send an email to stc@automarker.net if you would like the high school kid to set up your ping.fm account for $10. He will also create a new gmail account for you. He asked me to tell you that  he can do as many as we need…lol.

I made a special video for TSA members, to explain in detail how I set up this system for my TSA syndications. I did this a little bit different, because I wanted to syndicate everybody. This means that I am willing to syndicate a lot of posts that do not fit in with my own niche. So, check out video 4 if you are interested in how I come up with close to a 1000 syndication every week. As a matter of fact it is closer to 5000 syndications, but within TSA we only count 5 syndications for every syndication that goes to ping.fm.

    Amazing – $10 isn’t bad – I’d like to try it out~

I apologize for not responding to you sooner. For some reason I did not receive email notification of your comment. If you are still interested let me know.

No it does not work like that. You are doing this on most of the sites to create backlinks and because the majority of these sites have high PR your link will be picked up by the search engines very quickly. This is how people will find your site. The only thing I do advice you to do is spend some time setting up the profiles, so that people can find your website. But that is all. It is impossible to build relationships on all these sites.

I am also with Sigal as I am just a bit confused, so you don’t actually need to have accounts say on Myspace, or Tumblr or Blogger? Because I currently dont use these and if i were to use pingfm it would be for syndication until I get my blog up so the backlinks wouldn’t be for me it would be for others.

So I don’t have to have accts on the 3 platforms I mentioned but will it still post to them? Wouldn’t I need to have accts with them in order for my posts/syndication to go out?

I have found this info very helpful but just a bit confused here.

CJ, sorry for the confusion. You do need to have accounts set up on all the sites you want to post to. That is why I offered to have the school kids do this for you.

Is it possible while you have the RSS feeds of the blog that by posting via the Google reader in pingfm under service/tools will it automatically post anytime one of those RSS feeds is updates with a new blog post? Or does the button have to be clicked from the user? I am just wondering if the process can be automated each and every time a post is update if you are in the TSA like you mentioned.
