As I have mentioned to you before I am part of a syndication tribe. This is a great group of like minded people. Sort of an online business networking group. We help each other where ever we can. This got me thinking about another powerful benefit of such a Tribe.
Let me explain to you. We all know the power of article marketing. If someone uses your article you get a one-way link back to your site. If you follow the suggestions in one of my previous articles about the resource box you know how lucrative that can be. To summarize that article, it advices you to make sure that your resource box is an integral part of your article. This way you stand a better chance that your visitor will actually read it. People are so conditioned that the last paragraph of an article is a resource box, that as soon as they recognize the signals that this paragraph is another one of those boxes they move on to what ever is next for them. But it is not your link.
On top of that there is always the question about duplicate content. Even though Google does not consider it duplicate content if you publish your own article in multiple places, it is still not in the readers best interest to find the same information over and over again. Therefore, Google will not value it much.
That is where my idea comes into play. I have been reading lots of great article posts on the blogs of my tribe friends. Rather than posting there story again on my blog, I am going to add onto their information. In other words I will tell my readers about this awesome blog post that I read (link to their blog, of course) and then I will proceed by providing some additional information or view point that will make the information even more valuable.
Here is what I mean. I read this article the other day on my friend Beth Hewitt’s blog , where she describes how to add a great looking signature to your blog post. I really liked her suggestion. The post shows you how to design your signature in a very simple way and then cut and past it to your own post.
As you can see from the signature underneath this post, I implemented it immediately. But I went one step further. I did not want to cut and past this information every time I write a new post. I refined her method by implementing a system that lets you add your signature automatically to every post you write. Watch this video if you would like to automate this process also.
I hope that you enjoyed this video and that you implemented both Beth and my suggestions. Do you see how natural this is? I have added Beth link to my post without it looking like an artificial link. As a matter of fact it is not an artificial link at all. Beth provided great info and I love sharing it with my readers as well. Now if someone else is going to add on to this story, all of a sudden one piece of information was put in front of 3 different audiences. Your story has gone viral!
I hope you realize how powerful this is! If we all use this method we will create the absolute most meaningful back links for each other. And more importantly, we are giving each other exposure to a larger audience than we would have had otherwise. Obviously, this is not limited to people on our tribe. But using the tribe to get it started makes a lot of sence. After all, we are all like minded people and are willing to do this for each other.
Let me know what you think or even better, add on to this story on your own blog, with a link back to this one….
