The problem is that Google ranks pages, not sites. So a PR 7 site, more than likely will not have a PR 7 on the page where you are adding your bookmark.
In order to really benefit from these high PR sites, you need to have a back link on a highly ranked, trusted page. Finding the exact right PR page is not easy to do, except on the page that you dominate yourself. There is only one page on a social bookmarking site that you dominate without question. That is your own unique page that displays all of your own bookmarks.
By focusing on improving the authority and rank of that page, all your bookmarked pages that are showing on that one page will benefit. Let’s talk about the strategy to follow to make that happen, because when you start out new on a social bookmarking site, the PR of that page will be 0. The good news is that improving page rank is easier than you think, and it is entirely in your own control.
Like for any other page on the web, the ranking of your bookmarking page depends on links. You need to build backlinks. The more backlinks the better. You can build internal links from within the social bookmarking site itself and you can build external links from the sites where the content resides that you bookmark.
To create external links you submit articles to article directories such as ezinearticles, submit press releases, create content for web 2.0 properties etc. etc. In all these pieces of content you incorporate a link back to your bookmarking account page.
To create internal links you should add bookmarks regularly. Each bookmark points back to your social bookmarking account. If the social bookmarking account has groups, you should look for groups with a high PR group page and join. You should look for high PR pages and provide comments. Last but not least, find users who already have a high PR account page and befriend them.
Last, but not least, I should mention that you should always make sure that your profile page is filled out entirely, so that others who like your contributions can add you to their list as well.
When you follow the above advise you will find that your social bookmarking account page will get ranked by Google fairly quickly and this will give your bookmarks more importance in the eyes of the search engines. This, in turn, will result in better rankings and more traffic to your money sites.
